As well as tips on taking photograph's of your finished work there are also some tips on hanging your pictures.

Tips for taking photograph's of your finished work

Take  photo's of your finished work before giving away.
Create a photograph album of all your  projects
keep a record of who given what and when (occasion?)
Remove the glass from the frame, take photo of your work outdoors in good natural light but not facing the sun.
Flashes will reflect off glass and obscure your stitching
Choose a plain backdrop to help your work stand out.  Dark or patterned backgrounds can over power your work.
Drape a plain sheet over backdrop
Take your photo standing straight on to get a clear shot
Stand approximately 1 metre away
Take 2 or 3 shots to be on the safe side
Make sure you have enough film in your camera! (This happened to me - thought I had enough left when I took the photo's and send the birth sampler abroad before developing the film - now I have no record of the birth sampler)
No camera?  Take a photocopy of your project instead

When hanging your completed, framed artwork:-

If there is any danger of the plaster cracking when driving a picture nail into the wall, first stick a piece of masking tape over the plaster
To prevent pictures marking the wall, stick corn plasters at the back of the corners of the frame
Use Velcro pads (from DIY stores) for hanging smaller pictures on walls instead of using nails.
