A few ideas on keeping your stitching equipment organised and tidy:-

Polythene A4 pockets for ring binders are great for keeping small projects in, the holes double as thread holders
Zip lock sandwich bags make good project holders and come in a variety of sizes
Tie a long piece of ribbon to your scissors and hang from your neck when stitching, this keeps them close to hand
Camera film pots can be used to store needles, pins and beads.
If using them for beads, glue one on the lid so you can readily see what's inside.
A clean, empty lipstick case makes a handy container for needles
An old spectacles case makes a useful container for scissors, thread, needles etc when traveling
Washed out margarine tubs can be used for containing small projects.
A circular knitting needle makes a useful thread holder and can easily hold all you need for a project.
