Tray Hanger

Aida bands attached to a ring make a handy tray hanger. The length of the fabric loops used to make the hanger can be altered to fit different sizes - the loops need to be longer than the width of the tray to accommodate the tray depth and to hang neatly.

A 13 in wide tray will require two aida bands, each approx 45cm long and 5cm wide.

The ring could be a 8cm diameter wooden ring or Flexi-hoop.

Having stitched your chosen design onto the aida bands you can now make up the tray hanger.

Thread one stitched band through the hoop. With right sides together, fold the band in half lengthways to form a ring. Using a 1cm seam, join ends together.

Repeat with the second stitched band.

Now join the two hanging loops. With the seams facing the 'inner' edge of the hoop, over lap the left-hand hanging loop over the right-hand hanging loop - position them at an angle. Work a line of back stitch through all layers of fabric.
